The iPad is a far more powerful and cost effective approach than any purpose-built proprietary hardware. Its robust design, effective power management and flexible networking (WiFi, 3G) make it a perfect device to use for logistics operations. The iPad is the first tablet computer to support the latest Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) specification.

Bluetooth LE enables the CargoSense App to streamline the process of configuring and downloading data from sensors used to monitor shipping containers. The CargoSense App works seamlessly with the CargoSense Service to provide a secure, comprehensive, shipping container climate data management solution.

How does the app work?

With the CargoSense App, shippers can manage the shipment of containers to measure and maintain a defined climate. The shipper uses the CargoSense App to configure sensors wirelessly to log the necessary climate data during shipment.

The CargoSense App is used by the Consignee to wirelessly download the data from the shipped sensors. Sensor data is automatically uploaded to the CargoSense service where the data is permanently stored and analytics are performed. The shipper and consignee are notified via mobile SMS or Email immediately when climate excursions are detected allowing proper actions to be taken.
